December is right around the corner, meaning Holiday parties are on the verge of being in full swing! The one thing I always stress about when going to a party is my hair! To keep this stress out of your life, I thought I would share some Styling Tips with my favorite brand Hair Biology so you look fabulous at your next work party or holiday gala.
Big Curls with a Bow
Everyone loves the classic, soft big curl look! Let’s holiday it up with a gorgeous red or deep emerald green bow and we’re ready to party!
Step 1:
Before we get into styling, we first need to wash! I use the Hair Biology Full & Vibrant Shampoo and Conditioner. The Full & Vibrant collection not only nourishes your scalp, but it creates a fuller thicker body perfect for those big curls.
Step 2:
Towel dry after the shower. While your hair is still damp and before blow-drying, apply the Hair Biology Thickening Treatment. Made with biotin and free of parabens, the Thickening Treatment instantly thickens each strand and fights breakage for fuller looking hair.
Step 3:
Blow dry!
Step 4:
Split into sections, as many or as little as you need depending on you. Using at least, a 1 1/2 inch Curling iron softly wrap 1-inch-thick sections around the iron. Hold it in place until your hair feels warm, between 10-20 seconds. Then, slowly unwrap the iron, letting your hair fall free. Repeat until all is curled.
Step 5:
Run your fingertips through each curled strand to loosen the curl, creating that soft look. When all has been combed through, spray it down with Hair Biology Multi-Tasking Hairspray to keep it in place all night. I love this hairspray because it provides a lightweight, flexible hold for a soft, touchable style that holds up for a night of dancing and entertaining.
Step 6:
To add the bow, take the front sections on both sides of your head and pull them back, fastening with a tie. Pull a few strands out of the pony to drape in front of your face to create a little bit of depth and framing. Tie the ribbon or fasten the bow you have on top of the tie to complete the look!
Step 7:
Once everything is in place, use the Hair Biology Argan Oil Taming Serum to help tame any frizz. A little bit goes a long way to create those picture perfect luscious and smooth curls!
Sleek Low Bun
Another classic. The sleek low bun is perfect for a more elegant affair. This look is simple and timeless.
Step 1:
For this look we are going to use the Hair Biology Soft & Hydrated Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner. Since we’re creating a sleek look, the Soft & Hydrated collection nourishes your hair while cleansing to bring back smooth, shiny, healthy-looking hair.
Step 2:
Towel dry after the shower. While your hair is still damp, massage in the Hair Biology Deep Hydration Mask. This helps to bring back shine and moisture to dry, dull, or brittle hair. Keep the hydration mask on for about 10-15 minutes and then rinse it out.
Step 3:
Blow dry! (If not naturally straight or slightly wavy, make sure to blow it out smooth)
Step 4:
Once dry and smooth, spray the Hair Biology Multi-Tasking Hairspray into a soft bristled brush and section down the middle. Brush back into a low ponytail, making sure the sides are tightly brushed back.
Step 5:
Use a little bit of the Hair Biology Argan Oil Taming Serum to smooth out the ponytail from frizz.
Step 6:
Split the ponytail into two equal sections and tie it off with small rubber-bands. Then, attached a bobby pin to each rubber-band.
Step 7:
Next, roll away from your face and onto the bobby pin until you reach the back of your head. Secure in place, using as many bobby pins as you need. Repeat on the other side.
Step 8:
Play around with the placement until it’s a bun-style that works for you! Add any holiday adornments, like pretty snowflake accessories or a crystal piece to complete the look!
