How to Give Back this Holiday Season

Hello Dolls! Can you believe it’s the holiday season? Let’s give back.

It is so crazy how quick this year has gone despite how everything has gone this year. I think we can all agree that it is time to come together and send this year on it’s way. One of my favorite things to do during the holiday season is give back. We all get so wrapped up in our lives and we sometimes forget the true reminder of the holidays is to be grateful for what we have and to give back to the community. This year has been such a hard one on everyone. If finances is something you worry about know that you can give back with out spending money. I have some incredible things that me and my family love to do to give back and some ideas you can take with you. Again most if not all of these things are 100% free.

Help Out Your Neighbors

This is the time of weird weather, high stress, and maybe some long work hours for your neighbors. This is the perfect opportunity to lend a helping hand. If you are in an area of high snow maybe that means shoveling some snow. Maybe you see that your neighbor is stretched for time and is getting some take out. Offer them a hot meal…everyone loves Mac and Cheese. Do you like Christmas cookies? Make some extra to gift to the neighborhood because no one ever turns down a Christmas cookie.

Volunteer at a Soup Kitchen

There are so many soup kitchens that are looking for volunteers during the holiday season. Taking some time to search some local soup kitchens and what they need from patrons is a great way to give back the holiday season. During these times they are often looking for delivery drivers for their mobile pantry’s, sorters and packers, and to spread awareness. Feeding America is working hard and wants to spread a little bit more holiday cheer. Remember that if you are not feeling well….STAY HOME.

Believe from Make a Wish at Macy’s

This is one of the easiest ways to give back this holiday season. Help a child’s wishes come true. Macy’s have partnered with the  Make a wish  foundation and all you have to do is encourage the kiddos in your life to write a letter to Santa. Macy’s and Make a Wish promise to match $1 for every letter written up to a million dollars. This is amazing so your kiddos get their letters to Santa and donating to a wonderful cause.

Donate Clothing to Salvation Army

Donating clothing is not just something to do for the holidays but is sustainable and helpful year round. It is always time to Marie Kondo your life and to declutter the things you don’t need anymore and give back to people who can really use some new things. The Salvation Army is always accepting donations even during times of COVID-19. I know it has been so hard to find a donation box around but no worries, the Salvation Army will come and pick up. The most fabulous thing is that they don’t just need clothing. You can donate furniture, clothes, board games and so much more.
