Blondes Have More Fun: Shampoo to Make Your Blonde Hair Last

Hello Dolls.

Let’s talk about hair! As you all know my hair is it’s own personality. I get asked over and over again about how I get it the way it is (you can read all about that here). Lately I have been getting asked a different question. How do you keep your hair so blonde? Well I do have to admit a phenomenal hair stylist, a pretty penny, and living in Malibu definitely help. The real solution though to keeping your hair lasting is home maintenance.

Home maintenance can make a dye job last for double the amount of time, and when you are spending the amount you are on haircare it is essential to take precautions.

The newest hair trend is platinum and a blonde with no copper in it, which is the hardest blonde to obtain and it does not happen overnight. To achieve this cool toned look it takes MULTIPLE trips to the salon (which could mean $250-$400 per visit) and a vigorous processing. Usually the process is lightening the hair with bleach and then using a toner and a purple shampoo, because purple neutralizes copper tones. Then going back to the salon 4 weeks later and doing it all over again.

I don’t know about you but after dropping serious cash at the salon, and waiting for my achieved look and on top of that healthy hair, I want it to last as long as it can. Enter the blonde shampoo.

Whether you want a caramel blonde, platinum, or an ash blonde they all come with a shampoo that will allow your hair to continue to be vibrant and will prevent the blonde from going dull.

Nobody wants dull hair so I want to share with you some of my favorite blonde enhancing shampoos that won’t cause you as much money the salons will charge you (we will talk about that later) .

  1. Our first pick is a fantastic price you can get is at sephora, or TJ Maxx and will only cost your $12.99. It is the Amika Bust Your Brass Cool Blonde Shampoo.

  2. Second we have the Sunset Blvd Blond Shampoo. For $29.00Natural mineral pigment corrects any brassy tones in this creamy, rich formula. Its coconut acid also gently removes impurities without stripping hair of its natural oils.

  3. Shimmer Lights Blonde and Silver Shampoo is a perfect shampoo and you can purchase it for under $10.00 at your local drug store.

  4. Another personal favorite if your have a warmer toned blonde is the John Freida Sheer Blonde Shampoo! It activates a bunch of blonde tones in your hair and helps lighten them with each wash. You can get the shampoo and conditioner for $18.99

I recommend using a blonde shampoo twice a week to keep your blonde looking radiant and vibrant. If you are experiencing a lot of copper tones after you get your hair done I suggest lathering your hair with purple shampoo and letting it set for about 5 minutes.

I bring the best of life over 50 to you and all your girls. I’m a wife, a mother to college kids, and your new, fun online friend. I am going to show you a fantastic time while you are here.
